Sony x10 and Vivaz series

Sony has been slacking too much..
releasing phone of the same specs but with different variation type is going to kill their own phone line.

X10 series might be a huge jump from what they have for open OS. They hit the wall by not implementing a slim qwerty to it, instead they pushed for a smaller version call the mini pro and mini. the phone size is too small for MAN's hand and the keys are way too small. and to add insult to injury. They added more fatness to it. Mind you they are like targeting girls and not guys in this sector of the phone industry. Many had wondered why is there no gaming phone and instead we always get the music phone and the camera phone from Sony(legality issue with SONY  JAPAN). Finally they came up with Vivaz. The videography phone. However they had even hit lower with the implementation of symbian..... and the only time they did it right is by giving Vivaz HD a Qwerty... So what went wrong with X10 not getting a qwerty and why VIVAZ has one..... really makes no sense at all.

D day for Milestone in Sg

Wednesday 20th Jan 2010 marks the day Motorola release their milestone phone in Singapore. Only a hand few will get this phone due to the exclusive rights by Singtel. A lot of android buyers are pissed off by this exclusive deal. Milestone is one of the better android phone around due to 2.0 Os + qwerty keyboard and the multi touch not found in most of the phone on the market.

I am not sold by this effort of exclusive...
Motorola. You just lost a  few customers and mind you. I am am still a fan of moto designed phones and looking forward to future Motorola phones that is not exclusively tied to any telco. namely the Nexus 2 which is rumored to be out by year end.

rumored crushed!
milestone was not brought in! the Dext aka cliq was brought in instead and the phone event was so antisocial. :P

3G fixed for Nexus One for Singapore Users

Google sent in a press statement to address the issues of supposedly 3G connectivity problems. Apparently, they are not aware that it is not that it can’t connect to the 3G or HSDPA network, the problem is that the signal is very weak and connectivity will drop to EDGE once the 3G signal level drops below 0 bar. Apparently reports on the net reveals that if the same SIM card is inserted into other 3G phones, the 3G connection is way above 3 bars to 5 bars but on Nexus One it is 0 to 2 bars.
GOOGLE STATEMENT – Nexus One 3G connectivity for SG

There have been several media reports about 3G connectivity issues with the Nexus One. Firstly, we do apologize for any inconvenience and confusion caused to our users. There is a very simple solution for Nexus One owners in Singapore. For SingTel customers, the Nexus One should auto-connect to their 3G network. For Starhub and M1 customers, they will need to enter in their APN settings to connect to their 3G network. This can be done by any user in less than a minute:

1. Go to Settings > Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names.
2. Hit Menu button, create new APN.
3. Enter new APN settings. See below for the details.
4. Hit Menu button, save settings.
5. Select the new APN name, then hit the home button. Your 3G connection will shortly appear in the top bar.

As the Nexus One is an unlocked device purchased online at www.google.com/phone, ideally the first place for users to look for support is the help section on this site which includes how-to videos, feature overviews, ordering/payment/set-up/warranty info, a user’s guide and help forum.
If users can’t find the answers they need, they can call the HTC Support line in Singapore at 1-800-238-7788 from 8am-8pm, Monday to Saturday. HTC is providing local support and repair services for Nexus One.

Again, our sincerest apologies to our Nexus One users in Singapore if they are having any problems connecting to their telecom operator’s 3G network. We hope this simple solution will help them to enjoy the full Internet experience and the innovative mobile features of their new Nexus One phones in Singapore.

Nexus Updated News

First the Nexus was touted to not carry any multitouch. This is due to the software patent law that was issued to Apple in early 2009.Thus all other handsets  that carries multitouch will not be available in the US (except for Palm who had flout the rules). However this patent law does not affect Europe / Asia / Oceania countries. Orange in Europe has given a heads up that the Nexus one in Europe will come with the multitouch feature.

Ouch to those who ordered one via google shop. The second ouch came shortly when users around the world starts receiving their new phone. If you are at HTC/Google forum now. You will see a spikes in users who had received their N1 and have met with low reception for 3G. Will this problem be also seen in Singapore too?

One other issue with the N1. Singapore is one of the 4 listed Country to get this phone. However the 3 Telco has no words on carrying the phone after the press conference made by Google. So why the hell is Singapore in the list anyway? This is rather puzzling. So is Singapore going to carry this phone? Or will HTC sell it to use from their Service center? Or the 3 Telco with subsidize plans? Will we receive the Europe Version or the USA version? Many questions has been asked yesterday but came to one answer. "We are in the talks with Google/HTC and looking forward to build up our phone portfolios"

UPDATED
Google has outright denied that there is such things for the Europe Market. I suppose Orange's Marketting department did not do their home work. :P

UPDATED 2
SINGAPORE is in the list of  3G issue for Nexus One. - Sunday Times.

UPDATED 3 - a question of mine
Will HTC do a mass recall to the phone which has 3G issue?
IT also spell doom if this issues goes unanswered. As Motorola Milestone hits Asian country this month. This also meant that Motorola Milestone will be the no1 android phone instead of Nexus one as there are no issues of low 3G reception so far from HK users which has received thier phone last year.
